David McHutchon – Founder, Former Leader, and Candidate for Banffshire and Buchan Coast in the 2026 Scottish Parliament Elections
David McHutchon is the founder and former leader of Sovereignty (2020–2025), and a candidate for Banffshire and Buchan Coast in the 2026 Scottish Parliament Elections.
A graduate of the University of St Andrews with a Masters degree in Russian Studies, David worked previously as an antiquarian bookseller, information resources manager, and was Deputy Head of Research for one of the largest educational organisations in Kazakhstan. Currently, he works full-time in export administration.
He lives with his family in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, and is married with seven children.
